The Steering Committee will include one member from the office of the regional authorising officer—who will act as chairman—a representative of the Scientific Advisory Group, a representative from each one of the four research stations and the EU. The Coordinating Unit will also participate in the Steering Committee, as both observer and secretary.

The Scientific Advisory Group will be responsible for the appraisal of research projects and will regularly review, assess and evaluate their implementation and outputs, making recommendations where appropriate. It will report to the steering committee. Members of the Scientific Advisory Group will be eminent cane sugar scientists, appointed from among ACP countries and leading sugar producer countries such as Australia, Brazil, India …etc.
